I have a few minutes for a quickie so I’m going to take advantage of it.
I went to a beep ball demonstration put on by the Boston Renegades. They’ve got a great team here. They have 14 volunteers, 14 players and with financial support and fundraising are able to cover the team’s travel expenses. On top of that, their practices are very structured and productive. They have drills for everything and their coaches give great instruction. Those guys really have their shit together. I was very impressed. So impressed in fact, I want to move to Boston so I can play beep ball for the Renegades. My team in Oklahoma City is a mess. I seriously doubt they’ll field a team next season. And if by some miracle they get enough bodies on the field, the team is going to totally suck. I’m so jealous of the Renegades right now.
So, I had a blast at the demonstration. I already knew what beep ball was about but it was nice to get out in the field again. I hit off a tee and got some good whacks in. I did a little fielding and picked up a bitchin’ bruise on my hip. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a beep ball bruise. I have to say, even though it hurts a little, I’m quite proud of my bruise. I’m a little nuts. I really enjoy my battle wounds. Anyway… I also ran bases a couple of times. I hadn’t run a base since breaking my leg. The first time I went, I was a little jumpy. But the second time, I went all out and tackled the base like I meant it. It was awesome. I’m glad I got that out of the way. I was having a little base phobia that I needed to take care of. I feel fine now. I hope I have a team to play on when I get home. Beep ball kicks ass.
Gotta run. I’ll be back when I have time. Toodles…
