It's been raining for the past 2 days and it looks like it's going to rain some more today. I actually enjoy the rain. I'm kind of backwards - grey skies and a little rain put me in a great mood, but spells of continuous sunshine piss me off. I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I don't like all the glare created by the sun or if it has something to do with my need to reject popular opinion. It's very odd. Anyway ... I had some point I was going to make ... Oh yeah, so I like the rain, but if it doesn't let up soon, my yard is going to be three feet tall before I'll be able to mow again. I was hoping to mow tonight while the Redhawks are still out of town but if the forecasts are right, I won't be mowing until the weekend.
I haven't been doing much. The Expos are in Atlanta right now, so this is one of the few times during the season that I actually get to watch my team on TV - thank you TBS. So that's all I've done the past 2 nights - sit on my ass and watch baseball. Man I love the 'Spos. I can't believe they traded for Bartolo Colon. What a move. If they actually make the playoffs, I might drop dead from the excitement. Of course, I know they have a long way to go to catch Atlanta. The Braves have been unbelievable lately. I need them to lose a few games so the 'Spos can catch back up. I also need MLB to work out its labor problem. The last time the "Spos were a contender, (1994) there was a strike and so the season was cut short with the Expos in first place and there were no playoffs. Now with contraction, this'll be the last chance for the Expos. And once again, they have a contending team and it looks like baseball is headed for another strike. My team is cursed.
So I'm off work tomorrow and I'm taking off Friday because really, what's the point of going back to work for one day? Woo hoo, four day weekend! Tomorrow is Mom's birthday and she's turning 50, so I'll be spending the day with my parents celebrating. Mom is all pissed off about turning 50, but I don't really know why. It's just a number and it beats being dead. So Happy birthday Mom!!! Try to enjoy it, will ya? And if I should decide to buy you some adult diapers as a gag, don't get pissed off at me. (OK, I wouldn't really do that ... or would I???) We're also having another big ass party on the parking garage for Saturday's Redhawks game. This one could get out of hand. At last count we had about 30 people who said they were definitely coming. It should be great. It is sure to produce Update material. If I have time, I'll write while I'm off, but there's a chance that there won't be a new update until Monday. Have a safe and happy 4th!
